Martz Moves Up To Southwest Series
Justin Martz driving the #60 car of Martz
Motorsports of Montana made his first appearance in the NASCAR AutoZone
Elite Division Southwest Series this past weekend at Mesa Marin Raceway.
After starting near the rear of the pack, Martz charged up 15 positions to
be in the lead for the Powerade Power Move-of-the-Race Award before he was
bumped into the wall on lap 137 of the 150 lap race. Martz’s car was not
seriously damaged but he was forced to leave the track due to a loose door
panel on the right side.
“Overall, I was really happy with our performance here at the
StarNursery.com 150”, stated Martz after the race. “This is a new division
for us and we worked night and day to get this car ready. By the time we
cleared tech we only had time for one and a half laps of practice, but the
car ran really well once we got it out onto the track.”
In addition to competing in a limited number of NASCAR AutoZone Elite
Division races this season with his own Martz Motorsports of Montana Chevy
Monte Carlo, Justin is also a member of the Quality Motorsports team in Las
Vegas where he runs the weekly NASCAR racing series at the Bullring driving
the #60 car of Quality Motorsports.
Martz’ next appearance at the Bullring will be on April 17th and Martz is
already starting to prepare his car for when the NASCAR AutoZone Elite
Division Midwest Series visits Pikes Peak International Raceway in July.
“Pikes Peak is a really challenging course and we are looking forward to
competing there,” said Martz. Considering the fact that Martz came over 1200
miles from Montana to compete at Bakersfield, he is also probably looking
forward to racing a little bit closer to home.
