Martz to Compete in First Craftsman Series Truck Race
Justin Martz will take to the track in his first NASCAR Craftsman Series Truck Race this weekend at Martinsville, Virginia. Martz, a Montana native, will be driving the No. 63 Superchips truck which is owned by MB Motorsports, Inc.
Last week Mike Mittler officially announced that Martz would become part of the same MB Motorsports team that has been instrumental in launching the careers of a number of top drivers including Carl Edwards and Jamie McMurray. “We'll be bringing another young guy that no one has ever heard of to Martinsville, a guy we're really excited about, Justin Martz," Mittler said. "We're really excited about him and we hope he'll do as well in our truck as Carl and Jamie have in the past."
On board for the race is Superchips, a leader in electronic tuning products for late model cars and light trucks. Superchips was also the sponsor for Carl Edwards when Edwards drove for the Roush Racing team.
Martz comes to MB Motorsports with a string of victories on both dirt and asphalt surfaces throughout the Western United States. He began his racing career in motocross and remains the only competitor ever to win five consecutive Montana State Motocross Championships.
"I'm excited to be teaming up with Superchips and MB Motorsports for my first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Race. Martinsville is a great track and we are looking to have a strong run there. I'm excited to be driving for the team that launched the careers of Carl Edwards and Jamie McMurray and we are thrilled that Superchips is on board as our sponsor," stated Justin Martz.
Race time is 3:15 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, April 1, 2006, with qualifying starting at 12:05 p.m. The race will air live on the SPEED Channel.
